Low influence children’s activities

Upgrading playing apparently not enough to help children become more active.

Sustainable postdoctoral research by Dr Robin Quigg of the University of Otago Department of preventive and Social Medicine Cancer Society social and Behavioral Research Unit has come up with this result to date.

Any child wearing an accelerometer and GPS devices for eight days in 2008, then again a year later after the upgrade. However, when those results were compared with a control group of children who live in areas where there is no play upgrade, there is no significant difference in the total daily physical activity is measured by accelerometer.

Dr. Quigg said the results showed that play minor aspect of daily life of children.
