Depression, autism, ADHD, Asperger’s Syndrome, obsessive-compulsive disorder, anxiety, and eating disorders are conditions that have become too familiar to American families, but many find it difficult to talk about this disorder and treatment is often delayed. At the NYU Child Study Center we have programs that are unusual in this and other critical areas. Our clinical faculty provide comprehensive psychiatric, psychological and learning evaluation of diagnostic and treatment options. CSC faculty research, utilizing the science of genetics, brain imaging and other tools, in collaboration with our specialists to translate research findings into clinical applications. Research currently underway trying to find answers that will enable us to identify mental disorders in ways that medical scientists have been able to develop an ECG to identify heart problems. It is our hope that through research, education, and treatment, we will be able to eliminate more and more effectively treat all child and adolescent psychiatric disorders in the next decade.
Thousands of children come through our doors each year. Children and families from 39 states and 48 countries have been evaluated in the Child Study Center and many are treated by our clinical faculty.
